Adventures in my elevator.

Standard

After a random trip back from target me and mols are waiting for the elevator and there is this black guy there. he’s dressed like he’s coming from work. he was polite, said hi, we made slight eye contact for the second time (i saw him when we pulled into the parking garage) anyway. Mols and I resume our conversation about teachers with bad classroom management and he pushes the button for the 1st and 3rd floor. The door opens on teh first and he says goodnight, and we say goodbye. as he’s stepping out of the elevator i notice he’s holding a copy of Homer’s The Odyssey translated by Robert Fagles–my favorite–, so i say “hey enjoy the book. that’s a great translation” he smiles and says I will. and the elevator doors close. I turn to mols and shreik…i have no inside voice.
